Apenas refere o Maximiliano como único Imperador do México. Acontece que foi o 2º Imperador do México.


O 1º IMPERADOR DO MÉXICO, AGUSTÍN I, foi o LIBERTADOR DO MÉXICO: o GENERAL AGUSTÍN DE ITURBIDE.

Foi dos poucos monarcas constitucionais eleitos por votação secreta, como Bolívar lembrava.

Seu reinado de 1822-1822 terminou cedo devido ás revoluções do México. Seu grande rival o General Santa Anna, que se assumia como republicano, foi responsável pela sua abdicação e fuzilamento após ter regressado do exílio.
Este general depois Presidente responsável pela perda quase metade do México para os EUA. Através do resgate pela sua captura pelo exercito americano, do estado do Texas e da venda do Arizona e Novo México. Desta venda ficou com parte do pagamento no seu bolso!

O 2º IMPERADOR do MÉXICO, foi o MAXIMILINANO DE HABSBOURG. A quam lefoi oferecido a coroa do México após um plebiscito, "organizado pelos franceses". Foi um peão na política da França de Napoleão III. Seu reinado também durou pouco.

Contudo, dado não poder ter filhos, adoptou dois netos do AGUSTÍN I, DON AGUSTÍN e DON SALVADOR, unindo assim as duas dinastias do México na “DINASTIA ITURBIDE- HABSBOURG”, sobe a qual os seus sucessores, os PRINCIPES ITURBIDE supostamente iriam governar o México.

Após a morte de Maximiliano I, a Chefia da Casa Imperial do México passou para Don Agustin, Príncipe Iturbide.

Após a morte de Don Agustum, a Chefia da Casa Imperial do México passou para Doña María Josefa Sofia, filha de Don Salvador - Príncipe Iturbide , e bisneta de Agustin I.
Esta senhora, viveu na Roménia, onde foi decalarada “ inimiga do povo” e internada num campo de concentração comunista onde morreu juntamente com o seu marido.

Após a morte de Doña María Josefa, a Chefia da Casa Imperial do México passou para o seu sobrinho Conde Don Maximiliano de Götzen Iturbide.
Actualmente vive na Austrália é caso e tem descendência.


Penso que a base de dados do GENEA poderia ser completada com a genealogia desta família, que também tem ligações interessantes à nobreza, espanhola, húngara, italiana, croata, além de ser um dos ramos, neste caso por adopção dos Habsburgo. Também tem ligações a um Presidente do Peru e Governador americano, entre outros.

Actualmente, no México surge um interesse por esta casa imperial. Também por ser a ser a descendência do “Libertador do México”.

Actualmente vive na Austrália é caso e tem descendência.

A tia de Don Maximiliano de Götzen Iturbide, solteira abdicou em seu favor.

Efectivamente tenho seguido e me interessado, dentro do tempo possível, em relação a esta Casa Imperial e muitas vezes fala-se dela no Canal de História. O Imperador Maximiliano, de facto, e contra "ventos e marés", quis governar o México, incentivou o desenvolvimento Industrial. Foi, a meu ver, traído por Napoleão III e infelizmente nenhuma Corte Europeia o socorreu. Foi preso e executado.
